3D Environment Artist

One of the major first tasks and goals for Rolla’s new 3D Environment Artist will be to make and buy assets, model those for the 3D environment, and make levels.
Your daily job will look like this:
- Create high and low poly models for realistic natural environments, props, and details;
- Create high-quality PBR textures and materials;
- Collaborate with the team lead to maintain consistency between environment art and all other game art;
- Contribute to planning and design of gameplay spaces;
- Implement 3D art in Unity by decorating/lighting scenes and integrating art with game systems.
We will benefit from your hiring because you have:
- Outstanding 3D modeling and texturing skills using PBR materials;
- Proficient in both organic and hard surface modeling techniques;
- Proven ability to create realistic natural environments including terrain, foliage, and other natural formations;
- Solid understanding of architecture and industrial design;
- Thorough knowledge of optimization requirements for realtime game environments;
- Experience with real-time lighting and post-processing techniques to develop atmosphere and mood;
- Ability to translate 2D concept art into 3D environments with consideration for technical limitations and gameplay implications;
- Expert-level experience with Unity 3D, 3D Studio Max, Substance Designer, Substance Painter, and/or ZBrush.
Note: Candidates must provide a strong portfolio that demonstrates experience in modeling, texturing, and set dressing environments for games.
