The UK and US Football Stadium Report #

The UK and the US are home to thousands of iconic football stadiums, where fans gather to cheer on their beloved teams. But not all stadiums are created equal - some offer an unparalleled atmosphere that elevates the entire matchday experience. So, which stadiums in the UK and the US truly provide the best environment for passionate supporters?

To uncover the top stadiums for football fans, we analyzed venues across the UK and the US, ranking them based on several key factors. These included stadium capacity, proximity to the nearest train station, the cost of popular matchday snacks (like a pint, pie, or hotdog), and Google review ratings out of 5. From this, we calculated an overall stadium score to reveal which stadiums truly stand out. Additionally, we collected information on the availability of on-site parking, ensuring those traveling by car are fully prepared for their visit.

The Best UK Football Stadiums #

During the past year, over 55 million fans watched a professional football match in the UK. With so many matches being attended across the country, it poses the question: which stadiums are truly the best when it comes to football match attendance in the country?

Taking the top spot as the best football stadium in the UK is Anfield, home to Liverpool FC. With a capacity of 61,276 and just a short 0.02 km stroll from the nearest train station, it’s an incredibly accessible venue for fans. Not only does Anfield offer one of the best matchday atmospheres with a stellar Google review rating of 4.7/5, but it also provides affordable refreshments, with a pint costing just £3.30 and a pie priced at £3.40. Despite the lack of parking on the premises, its overall rating of 8.85/10 reflects the great matchday atmosphere it provides.

In second place is the legendary Old Trafford, home of Manchester United. With a massive capacity of 74,197, it’s the largest stadium in the rankings and the largest club stadium in the UK. Located just 0.09 km from the nearest station, Old Trafford offers convenience alongside value for money, with a pint at £3.00 and a pie at £4.20. It's 4.6/5 Google rating and on-site parking option further solidify its spot, earning the stadium a strong overall score of 8.46/10.

St James' Park, the home of Newcastle United, takes third place. With a capacity of 52,305 and a Google review rating of 4.6/5, this stadium provides a fantastic setting for football fans. Located 0.15 km from the nearest train station, it’s still conveniently accessible, and while a pint is slightly pricier at £4.90, the stadium's atmosphere makes up for it. With no on-site parking available, St James' Park achieves an overall score of 6.80/10.

The cheapest UK Football Stadiums for a Beer and a Pie #

For football fans in the UK, nothing says game day quite like a chilled pint paired with a delicious, juicy hot pie. But which stadiums deliver the best price points for these iconic treats?

Ewood Park, home to Blackburn Rovers, takes top spot with an impressive overall snack affordability score of 9.33. At this stadium, a pint is priced at just £3.50, and a hot pie comes in at a wallet-friendly £2.80. This combination makes Ewood Park the most affordable football stadium for fans who crave quality refreshments without the hefty price tag.

In a close second is Carrow Road, where fans can enjoy a pint for £3.50 and a hot pie for £3.00, forming an overall snack affordability score of 8.92. Carrow Road offers great value for money while maintaining the authentic, spirited atmosphere that fans love, ensuring that every game day is as enjoyable as it is economical.

Rounding out the top three is Toughsheet Community Stadium, which mirrors Carrow Road in terms of pricing (a pint at £3.50 and a hot pie at £3.00) also earning an overall score of 8.92. This stadium provides fans with a reliable and cost-effective option to indulge in their game day favorites, ensuring that affordability doesn’t come at the expense of the vibrant matchday spirit.

The best US Football Stadiums #

Much like in the UK, where football stadiums are packed with passionate fans, over 37 million Americans attended an NFL game last year, marking a continuation of the league's growing attendance. As the love for football continues to grow in the US, which football stadiums stand out as the best?

Taking the top spot as the best stadium in the US is Mercedes-Benz Stadium, home to the Atlanta Falcons. With an impressive capacity of 71,000 and just a short 0.16 km walk from the nearest train station, it offers fantastic accessibility for fans. The stadium is also known for its affordable refreshments, with a beer costing only $6.26 and a hot dog priced at just $2.00. Its high Google review rating of 4.7/5 reflects the quality of the matchday experience. On-site parking is available, though you may want to plan ahead to avoid congestion on busy game days. With all these factors combined, it's no wonder it takes the top spot with an overall score of 8.78/10.

In second place is Empower Field at Mile High, home to the Denver Broncos. With a larger capacity of 76,125, it offers fans plenty of space to enjoy the game. The stadium is 0.70 km from the nearest train station, making it slightly less accessible, but the availability of on-site parking makes up for this. However, as parking spaces may fill up quickly, it's a good idea to arrive early. Refreshments here are a bit pricier, with beer costing $7.50 and a hot dog at $6.00. Despite this, it still earns a solid Google review rating of 4.6/5, resulting in an overall score of 7.54/10.

Coming in third is M&T Bank Stadium, home of the Baltimore Ravens. With a capacity of 71,008, it’s closely matched with Mercedes Benz Stadium in terms of size. The nearest train station is also 0.70 km away, and beer prices are the highest among the top three, at $8.13, with hot dogs priced at $3.71. The stadium maintains a high Google review rating of 4.7/5, and on-site parking is available, though you may want to consider booking ahead to secure a spot close to the venue. With these conveniences, M&T Bank Stadium achieves an overall score of 7.82/10.

The cheapest US Football Stadiums for a Beer and Hotdog #

For football fans in the States, a cold beer and a juicy hotdog are gameday essentials. But which US stadiums offer the most affordable options when it comes to satisfying these cravings?

Mercedes Benz Stadium tops the list with an unbeatable overall snack affordability score of 10.00. Here, a beer costs $6.26, while a hotdog is only $2.00. This combination makes it the venue the most affordable for fans looking to enjoy their gameday treats without breaking the bank.

Coming in at a close second is M&T Bank Stadium, which earns an overall snack affordability score of 7.81. At this venue, fans can enjoy a beer for $8.13 paired with a hotdog for $3.71. Although slightly more expensive than Mercedes Benz Stadium, the combination still represents good value for money.

Ford Field rounds out the top three with an overall score of 6.89. Here, a beer is available for $6.26, matching the price at Mercedes Benz Stadium; however, the hotdog comes at a steeper $6.49. While the beer remains a bargain, the increased cost of the hotdog brings down the overall snack affordability score. Despite this, it still offers a compelling option for fans who appreciate a good deal on their refreshments.
